Research Interests

I am studying life-history variation in three-spined stickleback, especially the effect of changing ecological conditions on the probabilistic maturation reaction norm.

I am using a combination of otolith (ear bone) analysis, fieldwork on wild stickleback populations and quantitative genetic lab studies of growth and reproduction.

Three-spined sticklebacks are an excellent system in which to study life history variation, because of the large amount of variation between populations in both life histories and ecological circumstances.
