Research Interests
The
distribution and conservation status of the harvest
mouse (Micromys minutus) is little understood in Britain and
live-trapping
efforts have met patchy success. My research aims to investigate the
trappabilty, movements, habitat preferences and distribution of the
species in
Nottinghamshire reedbeds: a habitat where they are thought to thrive,
yet where
very few studies have been carried out. The research hopes to address
the
paucity of data on the species and as such, aid in the conservation
efforts in
the county and the rest of the UK.
